Consider the Netgear Nighthawk AX8 (RAX80) as a potential upgrade for your outdated router. It offers improved performance compared to older models, supporting speeds beyond 300mbps. Many users report positive experiences with its reliability and enhanced features. However, some have noted compatibility issues with certain devices or software, so checking recent reviews and forums can provide more insight.
What’s your budget looking like for this upgrade? If it doesn’t seem right, feel free to suggest another option within your range. I haven’t owned one myself, but my partner has one and he says it works, though he isn’t a regular user. It’s mostly set up and left for him.
I purchased this router recently and used it for around six months. It hasn’t performed well; I’m looking for a better option. My wired connection is solid at 500/500 Mbps. However, the Wi-Fi is poor—when I’m close to it, speeds drop to about 200/150. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this one.
