Before installing the new CPU, you may need to reset your BIOS. The upgrade from Ryzen 5 1500X to Ryzen 7 3700X might require it depending on your system settings.

Ensure your BIOS version is 7B79vAB or higher for compatibility. Updating is straightforward if your system meets the requirements; otherwise, switch to the latest BIOS once you own a 3700X. Follow these steps:
1. Access the update instructions at the provided link.
2. Disconnect the 1500X and install the 3700X.
3. Restart your computer after installation.
Updating prematurely can cause issues if your BIOS version doesn't match the supported models.

Also, keep the 1500X still on the motherboard and upgrade its BIOS to one that supports the Ryzen 3700X. Aim for the most recent stable release. Before installing the new processor, reset the overclock settings back to their factory defaults. The 4 GHz configuration you used with the 1500X is likely incompatible with the 3700X.
