Hi, I see you're working with an Intel Xeon E3-1245 v2 and an Asus P8Z68-M PRO. You mentioned having DDR3 ECC memory but can't use it on the board. Looking for a suitable motherboard that supports ECC with this chipset.

It would cost far less to replace the RAM than to purchase a new board.

You'll require a C204 chipset board. It's likely available on eBay by searching for C204 chipset motherboards.

For ECC you require a workstation chipset such as C206. Visit aliexpress or ebay and look for "1155 c206".

Actually, I'm checking eBay now. ECC memory is currently more affordable than standard RAM. The cost per megabyte would be lower, though it's only a small difference.

The issue is finding a decent DDR memory from Dell, HP, or similar brands at a reasonable price. You're asking about the amount of memory available, noting that ECC memory tends to be more expensive over time. You mentioned the 1245V2 supports only one memory type, which might limit your options.

I only received that detail from you. You mentioned it yourself. I understand, and I’ll wait for the picture when you’re available. What else do you need?

The first option is a different type of money, not the euro. What’s the specific currency you’re asking about?

It doesn't seem to be the currency you're looking for; it appears to indicate a DDR3 model.

From what I understand, registered ECC isn't available on the platform it's running on. There doesn't seem to be any official setup for it, though a few people might have created custom boards. In any case, you'll likely need additional RAM. It's time to switch to a standard DDR3 configuration.
