Hello! I tried changing my power source today. I swapped out the old Corsair RM 750X for the new Seasonic Vertex GX-1200. When I press the power button, the RGB lights turn on in under a second and the computer fails to start. Repeated tries to press it still don’t work. The RGB stays active on the motherboard though. I’m using all the cables from the new supply except two SATA ones. I’ve reattached every cable and double-checked they’re securely plugged in. Any advice would be great. Full specs and photos are attached below. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5900X CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i RGB PLATINUM SE 63 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler GPU: AMD Radeon 7900 XTX Motherboard: ASRock X570S PG Riptide ATX AM4 Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500 GB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME SSD, PNY CS900 2 TB 2.5" SSD Case: Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case Previous power supply: Corsair RM750 750W 80+ Gold New power supply: Seasonic Vertex GX-1200 1200W Photos show CPU power, motherboard power, and plug connections on the new supply. Video captures me attempting to start the PC. Link included. Feel free to share any additional details if needed.

Based on previous Sata cables, you are referring to power or data cables.

The power cables were organized and securely fastened, so I didn’t feel the need to cut them.

It seems you might have damaged your power supply unit. Wiring isn't compatible across all PSUs.

I just completed the cable swap. It was simpler than expected. The PC is now turning on. I’m hoping it works properly now.

I had no idea these cables aren't universal. I didn't notice anything about it when I was looking through the power supply manual.

I regularly perform daily backups, except for my games folder. It looks like everything is functioning properly now. Probably a good luck thing.

It seems you're feeling a bit stuck with reading. Let's work on it together. Ready?
