Need upgrade advise
Hello, everyone that is reading this,
I need to upgrade my PC but I'm not sure where to begin. I'm a gamer/streamer, so it's the most important for me.
I'm new to PCs—always played on consoles. I own a PC for the past year and with new consoles coming soon, I want to upgrade.
My current specs are:
AMD Ryzen 5 260
RX 570 8GB
ASRock B450M Pro4-F
Bitfenix Formula 450W
Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 8GB
2x
AOC C27G1

It depends on the resolution you choose. 1440p or 4k would work well. Your CPU might still be the bottleneck, especially for demanding titles. For straightforward games, the R3 3100 performs better than your 2600, but your 2600 should outperform an R7 1700.
Hello and welcome to the forums. We require additional details before proceeding. What kinds of games do you enjoy? Are there any settings adjustments needed for your PC when playing high-end titles? Do you observe your GPU or CPU reaching maximum performance during intense gaming sessions?
Thanks
😀
I mostly play FPS and a lot of Apex Legends while streaming at low settings, getting frames from 120 to 50.
Cod MW was running fine sometimes with occasional stutters, especially on mid/high settings.
But with only one PC, managing performance during play and streaming feels really tough I think.
😀
I need a more powerful 650W power supply and a better GPU from Nvidia. The CPU is still fine. I’m offering 500,- and I don’t want Xbox or PS, but at least my PC should have better specs. 😊
But it’s tough for me because I’m really new to everything about PCs, yet I absolutely love playing games on them. I’ve noticed this in the last few weeks. 🤔
Gaming depends largely on the graphics card, most of the time. Luckily, you're on a platform that allows for a CPU upgrade at a later time. You could potentially find a good price on a third-generation chip once the fourth generation releases next month. It's unclear if your board will receive the necessary BIOS update for the fourth generation. With the RTX 3070 arriving next month, prices might drop slightly. I recommend choosing the PSU now and holding off until the new hardware is released before purchasing anything else.
