Need to optimize my HDD
Hello. For Windows 8, consider using optimization tools like CCleaner or Disk Cleanup to improve performance. Software such as CCleaner can help manage system files and free up space, while disk check utilities can detect and repair errors. These can enhance speed and stability on your laptop.
The built-in Windows error checker works adequately, but the defrag tool in Windows isn't very strong. For better results, use the one found in the TOOLS tab under drive properties. Registry cleaners can sometimes cause more harm than help, though some programs like CCleaner let you save deleted registry entries—still be cautious.
many folks warn against it, but I strongly suggest using registry cleaners—they’ve helped boost my PCs multiple times. I recommend CCleaner and just a few settings turned off. After a quick refresh, I can share which ones I disable and what’s worked well for me.
I recommend trying Tune up utilities. I've used it for a while now and find it effective. It checks your entire PC for performance problems, including the HDD—sector scans, defrags, etc. Each full scan takes about an evening, but afterward my laptop runs much faster. Apologies for the unclear writing.
Installed Cleaner, opened the registry section, and disabled unused extensions, fonts, and programs. After that, it worked perfectly.
