Need to add RAM for my Acer Predator Helios 16 (2023).
Hi everyone! I bought a new laptop called the Acer Predator Helios 16 in 2023. I tried to change my memory (RAM) from 16 gigabytes to two sticks of 32 gigabytes each. As a result, the computer won't start when only one stick is plugged in, and even if you plug two sticks into slots 1 and 2 at the same time, it still doesn't turn on. I bought this new memory from Kingston as DDR5 32GB at 5600 speed with CL46 (model KVR56S46BD8-32). My old memory was SK Hynix 16GB running at 5600 speed. I don't understand why the computer won't start even after upgrading to BIOS version 1.05 and trying everything else. Why does this happen?
This powerful gaming laptop from Acer comes with a big Intel processor, strong graphics cards, and cool key switches called MagKey 3.0. You get up to 32 gigabytes of RAM, which means you can split it evenly into two slots for 16 gigabytes each. Want more details? Check out the official website at www.acer.com
I thought the specs were what they listed, but now it's clear that the mother board from 2023 doesn't handle a 32GB stick.
Hey there, yeah, you might think that's it, right? Actually no, the problem comes from the makers. They make you pay extra to get better performance and say up to 32 gigabytes is possible. Some motherboards are stuck because of limited features, and companies just want their money!
