Great job on getting that MSI R7 card for a good price! It’s working smoothly now and lets me display it at full HD. I’m planning to move away from Windows and stick more with Linux for the coming months. If it goes well, I’ll explore more modern options with better performance. I’m already considering a newer setup with multiple cores and am open to buying used parts to reduce waste. Thanks for all the tips—especially looking into AMD solutions for quick fixes.

Excellent option. It supports a variety of drivers, both older and newer, unlike the HD4000 recommendation.

I suspect an issue might be arising, I should avoid auction platforms. I checked Ebay recently and discovered a Phenom X4 9850 with 8GB RAM for £22. It arrived today, but the CPU had a few bent pins. I straightened them carefully and replaced it, but only two sticks fit because my old motherboard only has two slots. I applied fresh thermal paste and now use an older quad-core setup with 4GB RAM instead of the previous Athlon dual-core and 2GB RAM configuration. I’m considering staying off Ebay or saving some money. The PoP OS feels more responsive, and updating to the latest OS was quicker this time. The trial is ongoing...
