are you increasing or decreasing the numbers? they should be reduced. if you're focusing on frequency, I'd also create another profile with more conservative timing, as it might yield better outcomes than higher frequency. i have a 3rd gen Ryzen and have noticed that adjusting timings can be more advantageous.

I'm adjusting settings to turn on XMP, which will start at 3200 cl16 18 18 36. Then I'll increase the frequency to 3600 and keep numbers on auto; it will restart and I can lower the setting until it crashes. The results are 3600 cl16 20 20 38 or 3900 cl20 22 22 44. I'm curious which performs better. Could 3600 cl16 be better than 3900 cl20, possibly reaching 3900 cl19?

I'd evaluate both slower clock speeds and increased frequency to determine optimal performance. My hardware struggles with much higher frequencies, but reducing timing parameters has boosted results.
