Turn off the power, unplug it, then open up the box. Take out all the dust and junk stuff inside. Look carefully at every card, wire, memory stick, and connection point to make sure nothing is loose or not sitting right. Check the cables going outside too, like those to other devices or wall outlets. Nothing should be dangling or wiggly. If you have surge protectors or power strips, look at them too. Use a bright light to spot any signs of trouble: exposed wires, melted plastic, cracked plugs, bent wires, dark spots from old electricity, water damage, swollen parts, missing screws, or scratches. It's hard to notice small problems on your own. But it doesn't hurt to check everything over again just in case something is hiding somewhere else. Maybe you'll find a broken part that needs fixing.
