Something where if I hold down a key, for example X is presses the fuck out of it. Been playing through Resident 4 on pc, it being one of my favorite games back in the day. I'm at the part where you have to ride a mine cart underground and at the end of it you have to jump off and mash the living fuck out of the X key to pull yourself up. And I am saying it's completely impossible for me to do so. I've tried half a dozen times, it doesn't work. I even brought out my 360 controller, mashing the button on that would be easier to do... and I can't. I'm at a point where I literally can not proceed through this part of the game, and it's really pissing me off so much, threw my 360 controller after I died last time. Just need some kind of turbo button or autopress or something to mash the living fuck out of that key.

there might be a clicker, perhaps you can attach it to a mouse button so it triggers it whenever you wish

They don’t respond with autoclickers, so you should press a keyboard key instead. All the methods you’ve tried aren’t working in the game.

I need to head out right now. When I get back, I could try setting up Corsair Utility Engine to link X with a mouse button—I can hit it way quicker than using the keyboard.

I also don’t have any programs that can handle this, but perhaps you can create a macro that repeats a key press and then run it in a loop (pressing the macro key while holding).

I won't be able to test my plan until later this evening, but I'll use the Corsair utility to create a macro for my mouse using the X key. I'm not sure if it will function in a game. If that doesn't work, I can ask a friend who's an expert at button mashing—someone who's mastered PS1 RPGs over the years.

Sure, I checked, but it seems there aren't many options focused just on mouse button shortcuts.

You could create a macro by using a game or software that supports it. Brands like Razer, Logitech, and Corsair offer such tools. With Logitech software, you can adjust how quickly keys respond, which is helpful when games miss registering fast inputs.

I think I struggled with the same area and the timing isn't quite right. Just press the button before it appears on the screen, as it will prompt you to do so.
