The ISP refers to the service provider, and the router is the device you use to manage your network. Usually you can locate the correct setup by checking online options. To grant all traffic through your new router, you'll need the ISP router's configuration. If access isn't available, consider a switch-around method—often used by ATT customers. This involves using a middle switch to duplicate the ISP router's MAC address onto your new device, letting it establish the connection, then disconnecting the old one and connecting your router to the same port. Be aware that power loss or ISP resets may require repeating the process.

I possess an Arris router but am uncertain about its exact model and need to identify it. I’ll have to check if there’s a way to access the settings without disturbing anyone, especially since the family is asleep. I think considering the four available options might help narrow it down.

I don't use the internet. I operate through data connections provided by my developers.

The device identifier should be visible on the unit. Determine this first to assess whether it's a basic modem or a combined gateway. For a gateway, locate a method to access the webUI and switch it to bridge mode. Many sites offer standard login details. If you can't activate bridge mode, consider switching your router to bridge (or AP) mode if applicable. Linking multiple routers on the same network in this manner will lead to conflicts.
