I purchased a prebuilt from Best Buy and it's performing well without major issues, except for the need to upgrade its long-term RAM and storage. For my RAM upgrades, I was told to stick with the same brand as my current unit and that increasing the MHz is acceptable since it can reduce clock speeds. I’m not sure about latency—there’s no clear info on how it compares to my existing setup. My current model is a HyperX Fury 16GB DDR4 3200MHz XMP SSD. Would it be worth risking a switch to a similar HyperX RAM with a higher frequency like 3600MHz CL18 or 3600MHz?

Perfectly, every RAM module should be identical. The maker might offer replacements on their site ensuring fit when the requirements align with your current unit.

Once speed and slot compatibility are confirmed, they can work well together. For optimal results, ensure all RAM types are identical.
