You and your friends are organizing a LAN party with some online gaming. You have a wired connection and a decent internet speed, but it's not ideal. You're thinking about using network equipment and software to make it work smoothly. Here’s what you might need:

- Network gear: Switch or router with VLAN support, possibly a dedicated gaming switch for better performance.
- Software: Game client for CSGO and any other games you plan to play. Ensure the clients support online multiplayer with low latency.
- Optimization: Consider using QoS settings to prioritize gaming traffic and reduce lag.
- Backup plans: Have a few alternative setups ready in case of connectivity issues.

For games, prioritize titles that support online play and run well on mid-range systems. CSGO is a solid choice, but you might also want to check out other popular titles like Apex Legends, Valorant, or even some mobile games if you want something lighter.

Your link should work well for four players enjoying CS GO simultaneously, provided no one has any downloads.

Thanks, I understand that Lan doesn't need internet, but we'd also enjoy playing online CSGO competitively, which requires it. That means it wouldn't just be a LAN party.

Your internet needs to support 4 CSGO player with a ping of 100ms on the game settings. Essentially, you're asking if we can play 4 CSGO together using one internet connection.

I recently experienced this with 6 people sharing one internet connection that provided 150mbs. No special software is needed—just connect normally. Make sure everyone brings a long enough Ethernet cable and there are sufficient plug sockets available in your gaming area.

For certain games we'll play nearby, I should probably get some equipment, maybe a network switch.

You'll need a hub or similar device to link four computers using one Ethernet cable. If you run everything through the router, you'll require roughly 15 meters of Ethernet cable.

This upload will slow down your online experience. Many don’t realize how important it is, especially for just one person. Now with four players using the same 0.8 upload, performance will drop for everyone.
