Without access to each device or a way to control the machines remotely, I believe this isn't feasible

As the server admin, you should configure the necessary ports for your services. Check your requirements and ensure they are properly opened.

If the PCs support Wake on LAN, you might try it remotely, but first ensure all machines are powered on. From a software standpoint, Windows Remote Desktop seems to be the approach you'd consider.

I don't think so unless they already have a spreadsheet or similar record for each computer. You could also walk through the rooms one by one and verify everything manually, because even with remote desktop you need to power on the machines first.

It looks promising for the future, but currently there isn’t enough data available. He’ll need to start by checking all the PCs before relying on your post to manage tracking moving forward.
