Need New Games!
So I'm just beginning my first semester of college and it turns out I have a lot more free time than I thought, even with all my homework and socializing. I've played Overwatch and Forza Horizon 4 nonstop and need something new to try. I'd prefer something affordable or free (as I'm a low-income college student).
Do you enjoy singleplayer titles? You haven't mentioned a particular style. If not, here are some unusual options worth your time.
Skyrim: Special Edition (Newer, 64bit includes all DLC) - $12.49 on CDKeys.com
Fallout 4: Game of the Year Edition (Includes all DLC) - $12.49 on CDKeys.com
Grand Theft Auto 5 (Offers some multiplayer options too) - $12.49 on CDKeys.com
I understand you're looking for budget games, but Red Dead Redemption 2 will be available on PC in November for $60, with an excellent story and enjoyable multiplayer.
Edited to reflect current CDKeys prices.
CSGO offers a nearly impossible skill ceiling, its free version is highly recommended for improved matchmaking, and it can consume significant amounts of your time.
The game can be obtained either as a Steam key or through a download. The cost is listed in euros.
When the title includes "steam key GLOBAL," it will function as a global Steam key, enabling access worldwide. Ensure the region matches the intended global availability, as some keys are restricted to specific areas like Europe or other countries and may not work in the US.
Warframe seems to be the top free-to-play title I've encountered. The premium currency (Platinum) can be obtained either through real-world money or by purchasing blueprints in physical form to earn Platinum. You can accomplish everything without spending any real currency, and the time limit for building blueprints is capped at three days. During those three days, you'll focus on upgrading your weapons or Warframes. The main challenge early on will be limited weapon or frame slots, but most weapons will likely be discarded once fully leveled. The community appears to be quite welcoming to newcomers.
If you enjoyed Skyrim, Fallout 4 offers a similar experience, set in a post-apocalyptic America.
Contrast is a puzzle game with minimal action and a narrative focus.
Earthfall (or Left4Dead) are multiplayer shooters designed for four players, featuring aliens in Earthfall and zombies in Left4Dead and its sequel.
Epistory is an engaging typing-based game with an appealing story. It's a natural progression from the speed-typing challenges you might have faced during learning.
Hellblade offers a captivating story experience, impressive audio quality, and realistic depictions of mental health themes.
Lethal League Blaze is a fast-paced, quick-time response game with a dodge-ball mechanic, styled after Jet Set Radio with cel-shaded visuals. It's easy to learn but difficult to master.
Neverwinter is a role-playing game based on Dungeons & Dragons, and it appears to be free-to-play. I haven't played it in a while and only recall its social aspects with friends.
Portal 1 and 2 are light puzzle games with an engaging narrative, often available at discounted prices.
Rocket League combines elements of soccer, basketball, or hockey with the addition of RC cars. It's surprisingly enjoyable and a great way to pass time.
Valley is a short game featuring an interesting storyline and enjoyable mechanics. Its graphics are also commendable.
I've invested a lot of time in Oxygen not Included. Except for the bugs, it feels like the ideal game for me.
Warframe is available for free. Rainbow Six Siege serves as a different option compared to Counter-Strike. Siege usually features 8 rounds of multiplayer, whereas CS typically lasts about 15 to 16 rounds, making matches in CS significantly longer.
Top free games I remember are LoL, DotA 2, CS:GO, Warframe, Destiny 2 recently switched to F2P, Path of Exile recommended by my teams (though it takes a lot of time), TF2, and Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory which I’ve enjoyed a lot before but don’t know why it’s popular now.
