Sure thing! For cleaning up that notebook, consider using Malwarebytes for a quick scan. You might also want to try Revo Uninstaller to remove stubborn programs. Considering AVG is fine unless it clashes with Avast, MalwareBytes and SUPERantispyware are recommended.

I tried all three tools, but the rescue disk helps a lot. I’d save one just in case, since it’s simpler to clean up when they’re off.

Windows uninstall process is straightforward. Avira free version works well for clearing unwanted files.

"should I remove it" is a really great and well documented open-source program that was very tech-illiterate friendly it rates all programs on a scale of "probably should remove", then they can click on it and it will open a web page with more details. pretty neat
