I'm a 13-year-old artist about to start playing Valorant and streaming art. I need to know if my MSI B550-A PRO ATX AM4 board requires a BIOS update for the Ryzen 7 3600X Gen 3.

The B550 motherboard is compatible with Ryzen 5 3600x and Ryzen 7 3700x models as they come ready to use. A BIOS upgrade might be needed for the Ryzen 5000 series.

It should function by default, yet updating bios is an option. You can visit any store that sells MB and request changes only if they ask for payment.

It should function directly out of the box, though I’m sure the B550-A enables "BIOS Flashback." Insert a FAT32-formatted USB-2.0 drive (under 16GB) into the back port, place a file called "MSI.ROM" there (available on their drivers page), and press a button to copy it into the EEPROM chip. A tutorial is available on YouTube for this process.
