Need higher frame rate?
Hello everyone, I recently swapped out my processor to a more powerful one, but performance hasn't improved much. I was using a Ryzen 5 5600G before, and my Valorant FPS stays around 150-250, which isn’t stable enough for gameplay. With God of War 2018, I’m not aiming for 100 FPS, but everything runs smoothly. My system handles RAM and GPU well, and the CPU seems to work better with the GPU now. After switching to a Ryzen 5 5600X, I expect much better performance compared to before. Even using the bottleneck calculator with an RTX 2060 Super, I see only a 5% improvement. The main issue is with Valorant—sometimes I reach up to 400 FPS, but it drops to around 300 FPS or less during intense movement. I’ve tried tuning in Ryzen Master, but my FPS only decreases by about 200, which isn’t ideal. When I close the game and stream with OBS, the lag is noticeable but the game still runs fine. What should I do next?
Looks like you upgraded from the 5600G to the 5600X. If everything else matches and you were running on a dGPU before, the boost won’t be huge. A 5700 or one of the X3D chips would likely have given a more noticeable improvement. What GPU are you using now? How much RAM do you have available? And what kind of storage setup do you have?
The processor is essentially the same, weighing 5600g and measuring 5600x. The remaining specifications aren't listed here.
RTX 2060Super Kingston fury 2x8 runs smoothly at 3400 for storage, even though I tweak my CPU and still see drops between 280-350. I know they’re similar, but I think the 5600X offered more power than the 5600G.
I understand your point, though I don't share your opinion on the money.
Well then id just return the 5600x and get the 5600g back. Save up 50$ and well boom 5700x3d
They likely just adjusted the clocks and the L3, making them quite alike. I’m skeptical about real progress in the 2060S.
Aim for a substantial boost in Valorant by using the 5600X and aim for a 5700X3D result. The standard 5700X won't offer significant advantages over the 5600X.
