Hi everyone, I'm trying to understand screen tearing issues. It occurs in certain games on my 144 Hz display. My PC maintains a stable 144 FPS, but capping at that rate causes noticeable tears. If I lower the frame rate below 144, the effect becomes less severe, though it's still not ideal. I have a free-sync monitor with an NVIDIA card, which is supposed to work, but I don't use any sync settings. I know tearing can happen without sync, especially on older systems, yet I haven't experienced it myself. Could anyone clarify this situation?

I've tried it but it still occurs occasionally, though not very often. I've been playing for many years without any synchronization issues, but when I turn it on, I immediately notice a delay in the mouse movement. It feels strange to play with any kind of sync, and it's not as responsive. If I enable GSSYNC, I don't get tearing, but it still feels weird—mouse movements are different. I don’t know what else to do; I guess I’ll have to accept it.

Use a controller that supports v-sync.
