The issue occurs in PowerShell, not CMD. The command Get-MpPreference requires PowerShell to function correctly.

Running PowerShell as admin, importing the Defender module, checking preferences. If issues persist, consider swapping drives temporarily to install an older OS like Windows 10 and updating BIOS before reinstalling.
