You recently purchased a Lenovo Thinkcenter M710S from eBay and found the BIOS outdated. You've attempted several ways to update it—Windows updater, DOS prompt, ISO file—and none worked. Contacting Lenovo support didn’t help either. It seems the BIOS is quite old, and you’re considering whether an update is worth the effort or if you should focus on other fixes.

It's a desktop, so it stays powered on continuously.

Consider the alternative update that doesn't require the flash version.

That makes sense because updating the BIOS requires flashing it onto the BIOS chip.

It exists for a specific purpose; without it, the download wouldn't occur.

I discovered this during a search and attempted the steps mentioned, but the command didn't work because it couldn't locate "Get-MpPreference" or "Add-MpPreference." I'm checking out Hiren's Boot CD now to see if that helps.
