I think I might have purchased the incorrect RAM for installation with the motherboard, but someone suggested I could underclock it to match the board specs. Was it a good idea to try adjusting the BIOS settings? I already changed the DRAM frequency to 1066, but I didn’t see any changes on the monitor (not even the BIOS display). Are there other steps I should take for this setup? Thank you in advance.

The underclocking you performed is only applicable for that specific model, as it doesn't align with the RAM specifications. Also, it should have been applied automatically. Test each stick individually to see if any are faulty.
