Need help trouble with rebuilding
I recently relocated to Japan and brought my PC components along, leaving behind the power supply unit, chassis, and CPU cooler. My original setup included ASUS ROG Helios, ASUS THOR 1200W, ASUS Maximus Xll Hero, ASUS Ryujin 360, 64GB RAM, and an I9-10850K processor. I replaced the case with a similar one, used the ASUS Rog 1000W power supply and ASUS Ryujin 2 240, but the system displayed a CPU fan error and USB overdrive current issues. When I tried to restart and power it back on, it wouldn’t turn on properly, only blinking the flex button. What should I do to resolve this?
The motherboard features a small segmented screen in the upper right area that may display error codes when powering up. This could assist in identifying issues. Additionally, inspect all USB ports on both the case and motherboard for any obstructions or damage from handling. The cooler could also connect via USB to the motherboard—removing any associated cables might resolve problems. Your CPU should remain unaffected during this process, only the cables need attention.
The motherboard appears to lack power, only showing the two buttons flashing. The CPU fan issue seems linked to ASUS Ryujin's fan control hub, not the motherboard's CPU fan header, while the AIO worked properly. The "USB over current status detected" was triggered by USB 3.2, which resolved after unplugging the USB cable. Trying to reconnect power cables, clearing CMOS didn't help. It might be a damaged motherboard. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
As a final option, I'd attempt to rebuild the entire system from scratch. This means reinstalling the RAM, CPU, all power cords, and just assembling the essential components to get the system running and access the BIOS. No GPU, fans, or storage would be included. Once done, you'd likely encounter a defective component.
Disassembling it revealed everything is correctly wired, it’s working and turning on. Probably the motherboard was damaged. Sad to say, ASUS MAXIMUS XLL HERO is gone.
