Hi everyone,
I've put together a list of parts I'm considering.
Approximate purchase time: around Black Friday.
Budget estimate: around $1,500.
Usage priority from highest to lowest: gaming.
Are you purchasing a monitor? No.
Upgrade components: (such as CPU, motherboard, RAM) **If reusing PSU, include make and model**
Do you need an operating system? Yes / No
Preferred sources for parts: Newegg
It's time to refresh my setup and I'm seeking advice on what to buy. My budget is roughly $1,500 and I plan to keep my RTX 3060 if it doesn't limit performance too much. I'll consider all parts but am unsure about case, fans, cooler or PSU specifically.
Current system: i7-7700K, 16GB RAM, RTX 3060
Appreciate your help!

Your upgrade list doesn't include a PSU, are you recycling your unit? If so, what is the make and model of your current PSU and it's age? Storage wise, you will need to reinstall your OS, if you're recycling them as well. In retrospect, you should stylize your thread like this; *How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice* How to Ask for New Build or Upgrade Advice First off, respect where respect is due - this is an adaptation of the Animal's *How To Ask For New Build Advice* Sticky. I created this because there's a lot of posts nowadays asking for upgrade advice both on here and on the CPU forums, and I feel... forums.

The two or three main purposes of this PC are unclear, but it seems the cooler might not be suitable for an i9-14900.

Thanks for the update! It seems you're still figuring out the details about PSU. Generally, it's wise to ensure your power supply covers your needs, but whether you need to buy a new one depends on your specific requirements.

Primarily gaming. Eager to accept suggestions for coolers. What do you suggest?

Most will attempt to persuade you away from an i9 unless you're willing to accept the consequences, especially when it comes to gaming.
An i-7 14700K is nearly equivalent to a 14900 and works better with an air cooler.
"Gaming mostly" in addition to what?

personally id tends to forget about a 14900k go a b760 with a 13600k and look at a 7800xt or 7900xt or a 4070. Then on the AMD side, i would choose a 7700 non x b650 and a 7800xt .. Arctic Freezer ii 280mm cl30 6000 ddr5 ram. You're going to experience better gaming performance with a GPU upgrade every day of the week.

It seems everyone is suggesting an i7 for better performance, but the reasons go beyond just cost. Would you like to know why it might be worth it compared to newer models? Regarding compatibility, would a 4070 fit with your 3060 and are cases available for mobos? Thanks for your questions.
