Need help securing your Northbridge heatsink?
I own an Asus Rampage II Gene and my Northbridge heatsink has detached. I’m looking for 14mm plastic nails to reattach it, but they’re all shipped from China with delivery times of 3–6 weeks. Since I can’t wait that long, I’d really appreciate any suggestions on where in North America you might find them quickly. Thanks a lot!

The issue with the epoxy is that it's permanent—once applied, it's hard to take off without damaging the board. You might need to remove the chipset beforehand. For a temporary fix, use regular TIM and place a small amount of super glue at opposite corners of the chipset. A damp Q-tip can help if needed for removal later.
The diameter of the northbridge hole is comparable to typical Intel push pin sizes used for CPUs.
It's understandable you had reservations about the epoxy approach. I'll definitely remember the two dabs of super glue method. Your tips really improved my search results! I was having trouble finding options called "plastic nail" on Newegg, so checking the MB CPU holes and push pins made a big difference. Thanks for your help!
