I moved to Linux from Windows since I felt bored with it and also wanted to explore Linux.

I haven't used Linux before, but it seems like some system files might be damaged. You could try downloading Ubuntu again and reinstalling it.

Check the /var/log/syslog file near the moment of the error to find any clues.

The crash log file has some random letters mixed in. Since you're just starting with Linux, it might help to focus on understanding the basics before diving into this specific issue.

If you can launch a terminal or xterm, try running journalctl. I believe Ubuntu is using SystemD. As someone more familiar with RH, I haven't used Ubuntu in a while. If you have time this Saturday evening, I might be able to assist remotely if needed.

Gnome is quite unstable and uses a lot of system resources. I suggest using Xubuntu or Lubuntu, though the latter lacks a built-in compositor—so if you're just starting out, avoid it.

Gnome shell is your primary desktop application. (For the Gnome desktop) It must never stop working, otherwise there’s likely an issue. (Possible problems with theme or extensions?) You can try reinstalling it via the package manager to confirm it’s functioning correctly. (For example, run apt-get --reinstall install gnome-shell from the terminal.)

The Debian family has been using a specific GPU model for about five years now. What GPU are you running?
