Need help? My cyberpunk is completely unplayable and blurry!
I played cyberpunk 2077 for nearly nine hours, and around eight hours I began experiencing this issue where everything appears hazy and unclear. It seems to happen mostly in darker areas of the game, though it was stable before. Check the recorded clip to see how severe the blur is.

The video includes the in-game settings I used.
My PC specifications are: AMD Ryzen 5 3500X, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6GB (Gigabyte), 16 GB Single-Channel Corsair Vengence 3000 at 3000MHz RAM, Gigabyte B450M DS3H WIFI-CF (AM4), and a 960GB KINGSTON SA400S37960G SSD.
I’m posting this for the first time, so please let me know if I missed anything important.
Help is needed because my game is now unplayable; in some missions inside buildings the blur is even more pronounced than shown in the video.
Thank you.
Sure, I’d consider reinstalling the game. To be certain, I’d start by performing an SFC and Malware scan to verify there’s no file corruption or malicious software involved.

If you’re using Windows 10, updating to the latest 20H2 version is advised—it includes improvements and reduces crash risks compared to older builds.

Have you attempted to disable motion blur completely? Have you received the latest game update, which appears to be 1.04? Are you using the most recent GPU driver? Consider reinstalling it if necessary, as it might be corrupted. To address potential driver issues, use DDU in safe mode, restart your PC, and then install the driver from the desktop. This seems to be more related to graphical artifacts rather than typical blur; are you applying an overclock on your GPU or CPU? If so, reverting to default settings might help. It’s also not recommended to run single-channel RAM with a Ryzen processor. The optimal configuration usually involves at least 3200 and dual channels, which can improve CPU-RAM communication and reduce latency. However, this often leads to frame drops and stuttering.
Current State:

1) Motion blur turned off as shown in the video, but no improvement was seen; a darker clip was recorded, making it even worse.
2) No updates available on Steam.
3) A driver update was released and installed using GeForce Experience; now I have the latest GPU drivers, yet the issue persists.
4) CPU and GPU overclocking hasn’t been done, but RAM is set to 2923 MHz.
Only the single-channel RAM seems to be affecting performance. This isn’t happening in other games I play such as GTA 5, PUBG, COD Warzone, or others.
Please advise on what steps I should take.
Thanks for your response.
I used a specific approach to refresh the GPU driver. As you recommended, it's advisable to uninstall it using DDU in safe mode, then reinstall the updated version once the system restarts.
This situation seems to resemble graphics glitches, which are often linked to inconsistent operating conditions or faulty drivers. It's puzzling because your RAM is listed at 3000 MHz, yet you mentioned it's been overclocked to 2923. What is the original rated speed? I think reverting back to the stock setting might be safer, as instability could stem from the overclocking.
It doesn't matter whether an overclock works in other titles; sometimes a poorly written game like this can cause issues. Instead of focusing on the overclock, try setting the RAM to XMP, which will allow it to operate at its intended speed.
Regarding single-channel and low RAM speeds, adding more latency is likely the issue, since Ryzen performance depends heavily on RAM speed. Higher RAM speeds (3200 MHz or above) combined with dual-channel configurations help reduce delays between the CPU and memory, which can prevent stuttering and frame drops. This might be a separate concern, but it's worth considering, especially when playing demanding visuals.
I also read that a recent patch for version 1.05 addresses performance issues on consoles and AMD Ryzen CPUs with 4 or 6 cores. Since your system has 6 cores, you should definitely apply this update. Your video shows the patch is only applied to version 1.04, which suggests the problem might be there. They also note increased blurriness, particularly when using Film Grain, so turning that feature off (which is enabled by default in your video) could help. Patch 1.05 may resolve this if you're willing to enable Film Grain.
Please keep us informed.

Earlier I changed GPU drivers from GeForce Experience but now I removed them using DDU and reinstalled the newest driver. I also updated Cyberpunk on Steam, which made a difference. Film grain was turned off as well. After these adjustments, you won’t notice any change in the video. My RAM is rated for 3000Mhz but its base clock was around 2300. I used Gigabyte’s Easy Tune software to set Xmp to Profile 1 and adjusted the base frequency to 29.33. Now I’m wondering if I should disable the Xmp profile? The base frequency option seems limited (like 23.00 or similar), so how do I go back to the default? I’m not very familiar with these settings, so this might be a simple question. Also, in the recorded videos, blur and missing textures look much less than what’s happening inside the game. It seems the video capture software might be boosting brightness, making the footage appear clearer than the actual gameplay.
I restored to the default setting using Easytune, which turned off XMP and brought memory frequency back to 2133 MHz. I mentioned it was close to 2300, but then I activated the XMP profile 1 through BIOS, so XMP is now enabled. However, it continues to run at 2133 MHz. I attached a picture of its case stating it supports up to 3000MHz. Despite this adjustment, the issue persists.
I checked your MB PDF manual and it mentions using Profile 1 to activate XMP. It seems you might not have rebooted after resetting it to that setting, which should restore the system to its original performance of 3000.
Your most recent video confirms you're now running patch 1.05, so I'm puzzled about the ongoing issue unless the update was released without proper testing across all four and six core Ryzen AMD CPUs.
I wonder why you selected a single RAM module instead of a dual-channel setup, given the option to use a faster configuration.
I am new at building pcs so thats why relied on the dealer from whom i got the pc to pick some compatible parts for me. i had just told him that i want ryzen 5 3600 and rtx2060 the cpu was not in stock so he offered me 3500X and i researched on it a bit to find many people stating that 3500X does not bottleneck rtx2060 or if it does its minimal but that was not true now in most of the games my gpu usage is never beyond 50-60%, cpu usage is 80-90% and fps is lower than what people are getting from rtx2060 paired with higher CPU so i was already not satisfied with build because of the CPU now i know that ram was also not right. i was not on a tight budget so could have bought better Ram and CPU but maybe i was impatient and didnt wanted to wait for these parts to come back in stock at my local dealer. so thats my story.
Dont u think reinstalling the game is worth it ? because the game was fine for intial hours ?
Also what do u think i can do with ram ? should i buy a same 16 gb ram will that make it work like dual channel ? but in that case also 32 gb will be way more than what i need. or should i buy two 8 GB sticks and discard this one ? is it woth it to buy new ram beacuse several articles and videos say the difference in performance between single and Dual is minimal ?
getting better Ram can reduce the CPU bottleneck ?
Also My RAM is still running at 2133 with XMP to profile 1.
I really appreciate the time u are taking to answere my questions. Thank you.
