Hey all,
I built my 3rd budget gaming PC about 4 months ago now and have consistently been running into boot problems which I will detail below. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated as I have tried quite a lot and am still stuck.
MB: MSI B550M Pro
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x
GPU: XFX Speedster Qick Rx 6750 XT 12gb
RAM: 2 x 16GB Corsair Vengence 3600
Memory: 2 x 1TB NVME
PSU: Gigabyte 750W Ultra Durable 80+ Gold Modular Power Supply (GP-UD750GM)
When I first built the computer, I found out that the computer struggled to boot, and required 4-5 restarts before it would work. A couple of days later I discovered that this was getting worse, and the only sure fire way to get the computer to turn on was to point a space heater at the intake fans to cause it to heat up, and then subsequently work. Without doing this, my computer wouldn't even post, and was unable to get any display to the screen. I tried a different PSU, different cables internally in pc and different cable monitors. I tried restarting with no USBs or devices plugged in but nothing, I tried with just monitor, nothing. I tried re-seating everything and making sure it was all in properly, but nothing. I messed around in the BIOS and made changes as suggested on forums but still no avail.
I devided to RFA the GPU - Which came back as no concerns, in perfect working order.
I then used the computer, but would just leave it on and I would have no issues for about 3 months. If the computer restarted when it was already on, it would restart perfectly fine if I clicked restart, or within 30 seconds of a shut down. But for some reason when left off for > 1 minute, the PC wouldn't turn back on again. All of this was on another MB - Asus B550M-A II.
The other day my friend decided to buy me a new motherboard for christmas (bless) which we hoped would fix the problem, they also work in IT. This is when we swapped to what is in there now, the MSI board. Now, I am still having the same issue, however there is a constant VGA white light that is on the MB whenever the computer fails to post. Heater trick didn't work today / yesterday when problems started occuring - however today I discovered that a space heater pointed at the motherboard for 30 seconds, did in fact cause the PC to boot for the first time today (after 2 hours or 50+ failed boots). I have once again played and changed all cables and reseated everything, but honestly I am completely stumped and have no idea where to go next.
I'm thinking maybe PSU isn't supplying enough power?
Any advice would be so good, anything at all for things I can try, as i just want to be able to use my PC without the fear it will turn off and is bricked haha.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
MB: MSI B550M Pro
Not a good quality motherboard, due to a badly designed VRM area. Doesn't have a FlashBIOS button on the rear, nor a BIOS recovery tool.
If you're introducing heat towards a system...it's very likely that something soldered in your system has an improper connection(think solder joints underneath a chip aren't making contact unless reflowed), per my assumption, mind you.
But for some reason when left off for > 1 minute, the PC wouldn't turn back on again. All of this was on another MB - Asus B550M-A II.

Did you reinstall the OS after the motherboard swap? Would be a good idea to see what BIOS version you're currently on for your MSI motherboard.
I'm thinking maybe PSU isn't supplying enough power?
After witnessing Gigbayte PSU's bnlow up, Ive avoided that brand in favor of reliably built units. SPeaking of units, how old is the PSU in yuor build? You might want to source(borrow, not buy) a reliably built PSU that can deliver at least 650W opf power to the entire system. If the issue is alleviated, then your PSU was at fault.
Just curious, do you feel a mild tingling sensation when you touch the metal part of your case, while your bare feet are making contact with a tiled(non-wooden, non-carpeted floor)? If yes, you have a grounding issue.
