We're searching for enjoyable online co-op games for PC, especially simulations. We mostly want fun multiplayer experiences and are looking for something we can play together almost every night.

It's a complete waste of effort from a campaign perspective. I don't have any reason to try the alternative mode.

Warframe, Destiny 2, Borderlands, Stardew Valley, Terraria, Magicka, Warcraft of Starcraft custom games are just what my usual gaming group enjoys. Then there are the typical MOBA and shooter titles like League of Legends, CS:GO or similar. MOBAs could work if everyone plays together, but otherwise a level gap appears and it becomes difficult to play together.

Coop is really enjoyable, even though I think the writing wasn't great.

Only within 300 feet is it possible to complete most side quest missions where we aimed to attack from both sides of a camp, but it's too far away. You can't operate a plane or helicopter if the other one doesn't have one, and using two planes isn't effective unless you try to circle around an objective together, which doesn't work well when both players don't turn at the same time. Ultimately, you need one pilot and one waiting in the second seat until the first player finishes their mission. A lot of fun!
