Hello everyone, I'm considering buying a new CPU and have a few options in mind. I'm thinking between the Ryzen 5 2600, Ryzen 5 5600X, Ryzen 5 5600, and the Ryzen 7 3800X. I'm unsure if choosing a Ryzen 3000 would be a big no for getting good value compared to the Ryzen 5000. Which one should I pick? Thanks!

Can you manage a 5700X? Avoid the 5600G and 5500. Those two feel similar in performance, so pick the more affordable one. The 3800X is the best value, but it's not worth exceeding a 3700X. The 5700X outperforms both.

It varies, it's tough to say exactly what we understand. We need to consider your current CPU, the possible options you're thinking about, and what kind of tasks you'll be doing. Your motherboard also plays a role. Some systems barely support 5600X.

Ryzen 5600 at a weight of 120 pounds on Amazon seems like a solid option. For integrated graphics, the AMD Ryzen Pro 4750G is about $165 on eBay and offers better performance than the 5500 or 3xxx models. It runs at higher stock speeds. The 5650G costs around $170, while the 5600X provides PCI-E 4.0 lanes and more L3 cache, though it comes at a higher price.

The primary applications are simulation games and racing titles such as MSFS2020 and Forza Horizon 5, with a few Cyberpunk elements included. I own an ASUS B450F Gaming II.

This motherboard is quite solid, likely handling even faster CPUs than 5600X

Choose this option or aim for 5700x if it fits your budget.

You're looking at a significant investment to reach the 5800X3D price point. The performance improvement over models like 5700X is substantial, especially in demanding simulations such as Assetto Corsa Competizione.

It's amazing, I just saw a video comparing the 5800X3D in racing sims to a 5600X...
