Trying to assemble a build for my brother is challenging right now. The motherboard and RAM are the main hurdles. I’m aiming for 32GB, but I’m unsure whether 3600 MHz or 3200 MHz is better. If I choose 3600, I might need four sticks since the price of two 16GB modules has risen significantly. Feel free to recommend alternatives even if they’re outside your budget, as long as they work. I’m open to spending more if it’s essential.
12th gen Intel offers value only when using DDR5. For DDR4 users, a Ryzen 5000 processor is sufficient.
Which processor are you matching with the motherboard? You don’t need a Z690 board unless your CPU supports overclocking (like -K or -KF). If you’re not planning to boost performance, you can skip the Z690. Also, could you share the remaining components—GPU, power supply, case/chassis, and any cooler?

The current setup resembles the 12600k Dark Rock Pro 4 with several components. It's a custom build, likely modified by my brother, aiming for Intel. The Ripjaws graphics card seems reasonably priced but might be too large for the cooler. The £170 budget looks reasonable for the ballistix. I'm hoping for a CL16 configuration, though CL16 is optional. Wi-Fi is a nice feature but not essential. It's an ATX system overall. My main concern is whether the Z690 will work without issues compared to the B660, especially regarding PCIe lanes.
We're looking at when they'll arrive in the UK and he's pushing for it soon.
