I’m checking if the motherboard requires a BIOS update for Gen 3 Ryzen processors. You mentioned planning to use a Ryzen 5 3600 and are concerned about needing another CPU for that update. Your Amazon link points to the product page, but I’ll confirm based on typical requirements.

that is a good question, i dont know what the criteria is for bios updates, but you do have to watch for it. i just got done with 45 minutes from motherboard nerd on yt, so there are clear cmos post code bios flashback which are all good to have, one is needed when going for a 4th gen amd the 3600 needs a suitable mobo i have no clue about yours GIGABYTE B450 I AORUS PRO WiFi (AMD Ryzen AM4/M.2 Thermal Guard with Onboard WiFi/HDMI/DP/USB 3.1 Gen 2/Mini ITX/Motherboard) but I can assure you this, you need to spend more then $116 on a mobo, the suitable range would be in the $150 range. like the asus tuf gaming x570-plus for $160 is a solid board, realtek lan, no wifi, insanely cheap thats a recommendation from bullzoid go watch his channel on am4 roundup edit

The motherboard lacks a BIOS flashback function, meaning you must use a CPU from the previous generation or newer to update the BIOS for Ryzen 3000 compatibility. This chipset does accept Ryzen 3000 processors.
