This was likely shared several times, but I understand you might need some guidance. Particularly now. I've just started my PC build process and am at a stage where choosing an AMD CPU is important. All other components are ready except the graphics card, which I'll discuss later. Many of us are aiming for a Zen 3 CPU, but stock options are limited. I'm not keen on spending hours searching for a 5600X just to find it in stock and then facing competition from bots or other buyers. The value-to-performance ratio is what draws me to the 5600X. I've broadened my search and compared benchmarks, finding that the Ryzen 7 3800X/3800XT offers similar performance to the 5600X without the high price. It shouldn't be significantly overpriced compared to its MSRP. I need to decide now. Would it help if builders shared their thoughts—should I wait and worry about getting the 5600X quickly, or should I go with the 3800X/XT instead? As mentioned earlier, I don’t have a graphics card yet, but it looks like the RTX 3070 and the new RTX 3060 Ti are more readily available than AMD CPUs. If I manage to get this CPU, I could run my old AMD Radeon HD 6670 until I can acquire the graphics cards. If you really don't want to too wait for stock to come back a 3800xt would work well. I'd still recommend the 5600x as it has much better gaming performance but still. Also reason I didn't go for the 3800x is because the XT variant is 40 cents more https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/9wfF...0000279wof If you want to save 40 pounds go for the 3700x

I've just received the upgrade from a 3800x. If you're based in London, DM me and let's explore a deal for a more affordable temporary fix until things settle back.

Sorry, I can't be in Ireland. The UK PC Part Picker is a better option for me.

Really, not in a good position to assist right now. I’d wait for the 5600 myself, but could you check CEX? They’re decent though a bit expensive, and they do provide a two-year guarantee on all parts, which helps explain their pricing. I’m not sure if it’s possible to purchase from Ireland either.

There is a single shop on the opposite side of the nation offering a 3800x price, matching Amazon’s listing. The platform also provides a discount code for Far Cry 6 upon release.

Reviewed the latest delivery updates—it seems weekly shipments of up to 200 items are planned, with 126 pending orders still in the queue. The inventory appears to be increasing, so if possible, it might be wise to hold off until things settle.

I purchased a 5600x in November from Novatech, but they refused to accept Irish-registered cards, so I had to cancel the purchase.

I understand your circumstances better than anyone else, but I’d wait a week and see how larger stores handle your card. I’m hoping things will improve soon.
