Occasionally, loose components may not always form a connection or might be too short, causing them to drop into the socket rather than reaching the CPU.

Regarding adhesive, I use a kind of thin glue from the gorilla brand; it stays flexible so the pins remain connected.

Not advised, but potentially viable. In that limited space, it stays dry and withstands the temperature during operation.
