Need guidance on cooling and overclocking?
Hi,
I’m planning some upgrades for my current setup and have a few queries about overclocking and cooling.
My rig includes a Zalman Z9 Neo case, an MSI Z97 PC Mate motherboard, and I’ll be swapping my i5 4790 with an i7 4770K CPU, along with purchasing three Thermaltake Riing 14 RGB fans. The case can accommodate the following fan layout: two front fans (140 or 120), one rear fan (120), and two rear fans (140 or 120).
I was wondering:
1. Can I achieve a solid overclock with my motherboard?
2. Will the Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240L RGB AIO cooler be sufficient to keep my CPU cool during overclocking?
3. The best placement would be the radiator on top, with the three 140mm fans at the rear and front?
4. Should I use the front two fans as intake or exhaust?
5. What should I do with the one rear fan—intake or exhaust?
6. Am I correct in thinking the radiator fans will be exhaust only?
7. Can I mount the Thermaltake fans on the RGB hub and connect that to my Phanteks fan controller, which would then link to the motherboard’s system header fan slot?
It's probably because no one has replied yet due to not doing your own research to learn how to set up properly. You have plenty of online resources at your disposal to answer these questions on your own. I recommend using them, and you can begin with a search on Google.
