Hello everyone. A friend of mine is looking to purchase a new laptop and has asked for some suggestions. I’ve been working on PC builds before and have a solid understanding of the process, but I’m not very experienced with laptops, so I thought it would be helpful to get an outside perspective as well. She’s aiming for a powerful machine capable of running multiple applications simultaneously (details on that in point 14). Here’s what I know:

1. She’s budgeting between 2000 and 2600 BGN (roughly 1000-1380 USD or 1020-1330 EUR).
2. She doesn’t mind the size, as long as the screen is at least 15 inches.
3. She’s okay with 1080p resolution; I’m not sure about anything higher in this price range, but it would be nice if possible.
4. She needs a portable device.
5. At least two hours of usage while working.
6. Less demanding games at high settings, but more intense ones should run smoothly on medium settings—though I wouldn’t mind some spam filter issues :d.
7. She’ll be using photo and video editing, office tasks, game development mainly in Unity.
8. Minimum 512GB storage, preferably 1TB.
9. She plans to buy from the following stores:
10. She wants durability, aiming for at least 5 years of use.
11. Optical drives aren’t necessary, but an SD card reader would be a nice addition.
12. I don’t have strong preferences for specific brands, though I’ve had good experiences with Acer, ASUS and MSI. Brands like HP should be avoided completely due to past issues—Hinge problems and overall bloat have left a bad impression.
13. Based in the Republic of Bulgaria, within the EU.
14. Bluetooth and WiFi 6/6E are essential; at least two USB Type A, one USB Type C and one HDMI ports. Component-wise, I prefer Intel and NVIDIA. I’d skip 3050/4050 GPUs since she prefers the 40-series; a 4060 seems fitting here. For CPU, 12650H or 12450H looks solid for longevity and performance. To run Vivaldi, two Unity projects, a React app, a light game in the background and Spotify, plus 32GB RAM would make sense. DDR5 is probably overkill in this budget, so sticking with DDR4-3200 seems better.
So far, I’ve found the following options:
- Acer Nitro 5 Gaming
for 2249BGN:
Intel Core i5-12450H
NVIDIA RTX 4060 8GB GDDR6 DLSS 3
32 GB DDR4 3200 MHz
1TB M.2 NVMe SSD
15.6" (39.62 см) Full HD IPS
144 Hz
Wi-Fi 6 802.11ax
Bluetooth 5.1

With these requirements, does this seem suitable for her needs? Thanks in advance.

I believe the Acer Nitro 5 Gaming laptop priced at 2249 BGN is a solid option that fits your friend's needs. It provides a balanced mix of performance, storage, and connectivity, ideal for her various tasks. If she's okay with its size and weight, it should be a perfect match for her requirements.
