Need guidance choosing the right PSU.
Need guidance choosing the right PSU.
Hi
I’m looking for some guidance or suggestions on PSUs. I’ve narrowed it down to three options.
First, the Cooler Master V SFX Platinum 1300W is a fully modular ATX3.0 power supply and I appreciate its SFX nature.
Second, the Seasonic VERTEX PX-1200W is 80PLUS Platinum and has been around for a while.
Third, the MSI MEG Ai1300P is an PCIe 5 1300W 80+ Platinum fully modular ATX power supply.
It’s mostly about size, future needs, and higher wattage than my current 1000W PSU. I’d really appreciate any user reviews highlighting the pros and cons. It’s not about price right now—it’s more about what fits my requirements better. Thanks!
What is the price of each of those units? They are suitable for high-end systems. For the PSU's intended power, you may wish to add specifications mentioned in your post. The listed specs in the thread can change over time, making this thread and its recommendations less relevant for the current user.
Thanks for the update on the specs edit, but I didn’t want to add my own details since the 1000w Corsair model is almost ideal. It’s just a bit too long in size and fits snugly in my setup, which isn’t a major problem for me.
For my current system, I’m considering a PSU ranging from an 8950x3d up to the latest models or even a 5090. I’m mainly aiming to future-proof my PSU by opting for a smaller form factor.
I’m not concerned about the price and am open to any advice. I’m mainly looking for opinions because I’m torn between the SFX 1300, which offers great performance for compact builds, and I’m not convinced about Coolermaster’s build quality.
Seasonic seems to be a strong contender (as I’ve heard it’s a reputable brand), but MSI has higher wattage capacity. Coolermaster is also on my list, though I haven’t committed to its quality yet.
