I am having some trouble playing GTA 5. When I first launch it, the screen says that activation needs an internet connection, but I don't have one. The error message tells me my offline data isn't loading properly. It also pops up in the Rockstar launcher saying the game failed to get essential assets and asking me to try later. My Steam account has a working internet connection too.

Try checking if your game files are okay by using Steam, then restart your computer and try running the game again. If that fails, go to Rockstar's site and download their launcher straight from there. Then launch the game once more. If things still don't work, tell us what error messages you see.

I struggled with that, and the issue is still there. My buddy recommended trying a VPN when playing the game. Let me tell you what happens if it fixes things!

I believe turning off those blocking rules in your settings should fix it. You can find a step-by-step plan online that is easy to follow. If you go with a free service, things might get slower than usual. It's up to you to decide what works best for your needs.
