I believe I have one idea right now: Stellaris. It's a solid multiplayer strategy game. As the game progresses, it becomes quite CPU demanding because of the vast amount of data it handles. However, it lacks team structures, but you can create a federation with your two friends and compete against other federations.

I believe this kind of game could be too slow.
This helps us focus on the needs more clearly.
Perfectly, something that would really slow down hardware would affect in-game performance (winning).
I’m not sure if an RTS is ideal because while micro might be limited, it probably wouldn’t make much difference if the blob is still strong (and nobody knows how to play).
An FPS with stuttering or low frame rates could hurt aim, a MOBA might be okay but I’m still figuring out the performance needs...

I was considering recommending Crysis multiplayer but believe a community solution should be applied since official servers have stopped working.
In theory, you could host your own server and play 3v3 matches.
I’ve come across some guidance on restarting multiplayer, though I haven’t tried it myself: https://crymp.net/faq.php
To be truthful, I’m not entirely confident Crysis is as demanding now.

I was also thinking about that. Just joking, I planned to look at benchmarks.

Ashes of the singularity?
Vermintide 2
just cause 2 MP mod
ARK
Battlefront 2
Forza Horizon 4
Chivalry
Anthem for co-op (team of 4)
you could also try James Bond Golden Eye with an emulator.
just a few ideas

Vermintide - Co-op? Need 3v3.
ARK seems more like a co-op too. I'm not sure if it includes PVP elements...? It's been a while since I played it.
Ashes could be an alternative, but check my earlier post about RTS games.
Chivalry appears to have overly perfect mechanics.
Anthem is co-op.
Uncertain about Just Cause 2 MP – it sounds rough.
Thanks though

Some challenges don't offer many super intense games for 3v3, since they're meant to be more competitive. That's why performance tends to take priority over fidelity. You might also try siege mode with a high-resolution texture pack and aggressive settings.

FOR HONOR
If you're not into chivalry, go for Mordhau Hunt Showdown
Killing floor 2 – you can be humans or zombies
Also, as a wildcard option, consider Skyfront (VR) if you have enough headsets

That's mostly what I've faced.

Hi Edzel,
Some games for 3v3 from my list include Rocket League and Don't Starve Together. The latter is technically 6 players on one server, though it's worth checking which team lasts the longest. (It takes a while.)

The main challenge lies in locating hardware-heavy multiplayer titles. Because MP boosts visibility on platforms like YouTube and Twitch, developers should prioritize graphics quality and engaging modes.

Battlefield games are still out of my experience since BF4; I’m unsure if dedicated servers exist. If they do, you can rent a private server to play any mode you prefer.

That said, I’ve stopped playing much now, and I don’t enjoy many FPS games in general.
