Hey everyone,
Looking for competitive game ideas for 3v3, preferably LAN-friendly. You should be able to play directly against each other without relying on matchmaking. Hardware-heavy at 1080p with high settings is a must. Focus on RTS or FPS genres—no turn-based games. Let me know!

I believe all titles in the Counter-Strike lineup work well for LAN gatherings, allowing groups of three to play together.

Other MOBA games with 3x3 maps include League of Legends and similar titles.

Yeah, the issue is it's not too demanding on hardware. =P
I haven't played a MOBA recently... Do you offer custom matches for tournaments or scrims?

Yeah CS:GO is the main game for our group gatherings, we usually have six players and either play 3v3 or add two bots to each team so it's a full 5v5, but we mostly stick to that or Civilization 5 at our LAN events.

I think pretty much all good LAN party games are from a few years ago and not very hardware intensive.
In League of Legends you can create your own custom games so you could have a 3v3 set up. There even is a map made specifically for 3v3 games.

We also created some custom content in Black Ops 4 for a short time, mainly focusing on FFA and TDM elements.

I haven't experienced it myself, but from what I remember, yes, in LoL you'll still play online rather than LAN, though you can restrict access only to your friends.

Certainly! Online play is acceptable if you can design your own custom games with friends rather than being paired with random individuals.

Correct. Needs to accommodate 3v3 (or variations like 4v4 or 5v5, though ideally balanced for 3v3... We may include placeholder players who don't engage or lose immediately).
