Need Cooler to OC FX-6300
Need Cooler to OC FX-6300
Which CPU cooler should I purchase to enable overclocking on the FX-6300? Here are some options: my case (http://pcpartpicker.com/product/GgYXsY/c...c9011070ww) and a motherboard (http://pcpartpicker.com/product/T69KHx/g...a78lmtusb3).
What CPU cooler should I purchase for overclocking the FX-6300? Here are my options: my case (http://pcpartpicker.com/product/GgYXsY/c...c9011070ww) has a height limit of 120mm, and the motherboard might restrict overclocking. I’m unsure if it supports it. Have any suggestions?

Motherboard (uncertain if it supports the CPU. Any advice?)-http://pcpartpicker.com/product/T69KHx/gigabyte-motherboard-ga78lmtusb3
Maximum cooler height is 120mm.
The motherboard I’m using won’t let you overclock much at all.
Are you setting this up now?
No, this is the board I already have. I’m replacing my FX-4350 with the 6300 and plan to overclock it a bit.
Maxalge suggested which CPU cooler to purchase for overclocking the FX-6300. He shared his case link and mentioned the motherboard he's using, noting its limitations. He advised considering a low-profile cooler or an AIO, as the current setup won't support significant overclocking. He also warned against spending money on subpar gains on a dead platform.

120mm is the maximum height for a CPU cooler
That motherboard won’t support much overclocking at all
Are you building this system?
No, this is the board I currently have. I’m using an FX-4350 and planning to replace it with the 6300 for some overclocking.
It’s not wise to spend money on weak gains on a dead setup
Based on your case, you’ll likely need a low-profile cooler or an AIO
The board won’t allow significant overclocks even with one
Save your funds for a fresh build
I’ve made a list of everything I’d need for the 6300 and another for an i3-6100
I might switch to an i3 instead, as I’m familiar with its socket
Do you know any good Micro ATX LGA 1151 cases? I found the MSI H110 and think I’ll order it
My plan is to run the i3 for as long as possible before upgrading to an i5 since they share the same socket
Or I’ll test how the Ryzen performs.
