Need assistance with your wireless printer? Let me know what issue you're facing!
Hello everyone. I’m based in Colombia, so you might not be used to my ISP—but feel free to ask anything you need. Second, I’m not really familiar with Wi-Fi setups... All I can do is look at my IP address, haha... So, please give me a break. Recently, my home printer stopped working properly. It was fine before, but now it only connects through the Wi-Fi network. My HP DeskJet 5820 is an all-in-one model.
I’ve noticed that other devices—PCs linked via Ethernet, phones—can see and connect to the printer over Wi-Fi, but the printer itself claims a strong signal. When I try to print using USB, it works briefly before disconnecting. Even when I manually add the printer to my PC, it only connects for a short time.
My network setup is a bit unusual: the main modem is in the living room with fiber optics (model RTF3505VW). There are likely 15–25 devices connected there. The hallway has a dual-band access point that works in most areas except two rooms. Room one uses a Lynksys router, and room two added a TP-Link extender. I’ve attached a diagram of the setup for your reference.
I reached out to HP support, who tested the printer and found it connected via Wi-Fi but couldn’t resolve the issue. They suggested moving to another location or removing some routers, thinking interference might be the cause. But they didn’t help much and kept saying I should try a different place.
I’m really stuck. Any advice would mean a lot. Thanks!
