Hi there, I’m trying to fix my ROG phone 5S after replacing the front and back glass. Everything seemed okay during installation, but one of the ribbon cables broke. I ordered a replacement cable and new battery, then reassembled it. Now it won’t boot, even though I’m sure the mother/daughter board is getting power and the screen is new. It just doesn’t power on or show charging. Any advice would be really helpful!

Consider sending it to a phone repair shop.

does the device shake while you continue using it? have you connected your phone to power? often the batteries you get aren’t fully charged, so I typically let the phone rest for 2 to 3 hours after replacing the battery with a fresh one.

No shaking detected; the batteries get slightly warmer during charging, confirming they’re powering up. There’s no reaction when you press or hold the power button.

Maintain the phone's power for several hours; if the display functions, it should show a status about charging or full charge. Never leave it unattended—monitor the device constantly since a faulty charging port could cause overheating and affect performance.
