is your system using a 32-bit version of Windows? The motherboard information notes that because of a limitation in older Windows versions, more than 4 GB of RAM can't be fully recognized, so the displayed amount will be lower. regardless, your board is limited to around 16 GB of memory even with 2400 MHz. if you're thinking about upgrading components, you might want to look at My PC guide for suggestions.
I believe I discovered the answer. I purchased ECC RAM, but my motherboard only accommodates 4 or 8GB ECC, while it allows non-ECC for 4, 8, and 16GB.
