Upgraded from an FX 8350 to a Ryzen 5 1600 and switched to an ASRock AB350 Pro4. In my previous setup, I had a Wi-Fi card for easy internet access. Now I’m using the PCI Network card, but when I try to connect to the internet, there are no options available. I’m currently connected via Ethernet, but this might not be reliable since I need to run cables from my living room to my office. The Wi-Fi card isn’t picking up at all, and it’s happening even though the computer works fine most of the time. Any suggestions? I’ve updated the drivers, but there should be Wi-Fi networks detected.

Have you checked for driver updates for your NIC card? Identify the specific card and confirm it's correctly positioned.

Have you verified the PCI card is visible and drivers are set up? Use Device Manager to look for any unrecognized devices that need proper driver installation.

Photo of the Device Manager showing the setup. I’m not entirely confident about the device name since I received it from a friend some time ago. It appears to have two prongs—like a Wi-Fi antenna—and seems capable of connecting to Wi-Fi, though I noticed no Ethernet port. After moving it into a few PCI slots, it works fine now. The Device Manager shows no issues. Thanks to everyone for the help!

The pin arrangement might be identical, but the card could not fit on the new motherboard. That seems possible even though it appears to match an older slot type. I suspect this is the correct explanation. My concern comes from the fact that modern NIC cards use the x4 connector, whereas this one seems designed for an older x8 or x16 port. I have a comparable card in my collection that I removed from a previous computer.

The device manager image clearly displays no wireless card, suggesting two possibilities: either it isn't visible at all, or Windows interprets it differently. Having the exact make and model would be useful.

I discovered this software on the internet, but the drivers only work with Windows 7. My system has version 10, and when I attempt to install them it displays "not valid os." The name is goldcrest wpea-113n, found at http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/goldcres...n-drivers/.

Did you use Windows 10 on your previous machine? It seems the card won't work with it. For a wireless option, consider the giabyte GC-WB867D-I.

Have you considered removing and reapplying the device drivers for the card?
