Last year I started PC building from scratch, so I used a guide from an employee at MicroCenter. They suggested specific parts like the i9 9900, ASRock cooler, RAM sticks, SSD, power supply, and graphics card. Most of my friends criticized me for choosing a locked CPU, so I swapped it out and bought the i9 9900k for $20 more. I was puzzled about their recommendation since my temps were consistently above 85°C. Eventually, I picked a stock cooler from Coolermaster, which cost $35. I realized ASRock is usually a budget brand, while Asus, MSI, and Gigabyte are more premium options, which fits my current build. I’m planning to upgrade my motherboard soon and would like some advice. All prices here are in US dollars.
Think about your CPU options again. A 5600X or 10700K are both cheaper by $120 and available now, with improved gaming performance.
When I purchased it, it was considered the top CPU on the market. Additionally, it was suggested to me by an employee at a micro center.
