I recently unlocked my iPhone 4s, but when I attempted to install or download changes, everything failed. I restored my phone but now it keeps showing the update screen even after restoring from iCloud on the phone itself. Could someone assist me? If I try from a computer, it just says it can't do that. Thanks!

Not a fix, but I wouldn’t purchase Apple items simply because they’re... unique. This implies nobody understands their inner workings, at least in general. Likely I’ll face criticism from Apple supporters, but... if an Android were affected, you could install any Linux or kernel system and resolve the issue quickly within an hour. You might need to visit the Apple Store. Charging excessive fees for basic services isn’t ideal.

Visit iTunes, initiate a factory reset or a forced installation of the latest iOS version. You might also consider placing the device in DFU mode and restoring from there.

Find instructions on how to put your phone into DFU mode by first forcing it off. Next, use iTunes to download the firmware and perform a full restore. If the device is already in DFU or recovery mode, iTunes will need to complete the restoration since it can't access serial numbers. Your guidance was very useful!

It was just a remark, not an issue. As I mentioned, I anticipated facing criticism for what I shared online. On the web, expressing an opinion—even kindly—often gets dismissed and labeled as nonsense. Thanks for your support in pointing out my post, which had absolutely nothing to do with you. It’s hard to believe it would be taken seriously. You can’t just switch operating systems on Apple devices, and unless you’re very experienced, mistakes usually mean visiting an Apple store. Android offers clear advantages over iPhones, but that’s outside my concerns. Honestly, that’s not my place to judge.

I understand the D: message and the issue you're facing. Let's try again.
