The numbers you're seeing reflect different system states. The 1GB mentioned is likely the total installed RAM, while the advanced display settings show a higher usable amount due to shared resources. The "can I run it?" estimate probably accounts for available memory after accounting for background processes. This discrepancy can happen because of how the system partitions and manages memory.

The problem lies in how different systems track memory usage. Various software interpret memory differently—some claim dedicated iGPU memory exists, others say it's shared and free for other programs. There’s also a category called Hardware Reserved, which the motherboard locks away, forcing the OS to share it with the iGPU regardless of settings. Without knowing your exact hardware configuration, we can’t confirm whether any reporting is off—your setup details aren’t provided.

For the CPU I have an i7 4790, paired with a 1366x768 display at 59 Hz. The monitor I’m using is a Dell OptiPlex 9020, and I’m using a 0N4YC8 power supply.

When checking System Information, the adapter RAM shows 1GB, while advanced display settings reveal 576MB VRAM, 2048MB shared memory, and 2624MB total available. On the "Can I run it?" page, it lists 513MB VRAM, 8GB RAM, but the system didn’t recognize the 1024MB VRAM size.

It seems you have 1024MB of VRAM configured. Various programs may display different statistics, which isn’t inherently problematic. Are these discrepancies affecting performance? Is there a specific task or feature you’re encountering difficulties with? Could the allocation of your video memory be causing unexpected behavior?

Today I played Far Cry Primal, a game that needs at least 1024MB of VRAM. It felt odd seeing only about 20 FPS, especially compared to games like Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 which run smoothly even at 1024x768. I’m unsure if the low frame rate is due to the VRAM requirement or other factors.

Having sufficient VRAM isn't enough; the iGPU or GPU must still be capable of handling the game's demands.

It seems there were mixed numbers displayed across different sections, which made it hard to understand.

It's due to the fact that you're attempting a fairly challenging game since 2016 using an Intel iGPU from 2014. The ability to achieve 20fps is actually more impressive than anticipated. Below is an illustration of another person trying this on the HD 4600 graphics, which manages around 15fps at 720p.
