I possess just one 8-pin connector. Using a splitter allows me to divide a single connection for the top left side of my motherboard, while the remaining goes to the CPU. My extension cables feature a 6 + 2 and a 4 + 4 header. Updated March 14, 2024 by Nightreaper-00
No, those cables aren't compatible. The one you received is a PCIe 6+2 pin for GPUs, not the same as the one you expect. You already have an 8-pin 4+4 cable in the top left, so it should work fine. Is this your first build or have you used it before?
Wow, your power source lacks a PCIe power port and isn't modular, so it won't fit your project. You'll need a different power supply with the correct cables. Using a splitter on an 8-pin EPS power cable won't work with an 8-pin PCIe GPU cable—they're not compatible.
It's a faulty power supply unit. It can handle up to 36A on the +12V line, but it delivers around 380W in normal operation. The advertised 650W is misleading, and the absence of PCI-E cables or even Molex/SATA connections confirms this. There are no PCI-E power ports at all. I'm unsure how a 6+2 PCI-E cable could fit physically. The 4+4 connector is reserved for the motherboard only. The 8-pin motherboard connector has a different pin layout than an PCI-E 8-pin port, making it incompatible. Cable extensions don't help.
